Grid Utilities

Project Title: 100kVA Transformer Installation & Commissioning

Location: Ntenjeru Trading Centre, Kayunga District

✓ UEDCL Approved
Completed: July 2026

Project Overview: 15 shops in Ntenjeru suffered low voltage metrics and constant grid failure issues because they were far from the main line.

The Challenge: Securing immediate regulatory grid inspection approvals from authorities while fabricating heavy concrete foundation reinforcements.

What We Did:

  1. Built concrete plinth and secure perimeter steel fencing
  2. Mounted 100kVA transformer unit securely onto 2-pole structures
  3. Executed HT and LT line terminations alongside drop-out fuses wiring
  4. Conducted full grounding system verification diagnostics under 5 ohms
  5. Oil level testing and final energizing sequences alongside UEDCL engineers

Result & Safety: All 15 shops now have stable 3-phase power. Voltage normalized from 160V to 240V. No more burnt appliances.

Grid Extensions

Project Title: 11kV High Voltage (HV) Overhead Line Construction

Location: Busaana Sub-county, Kayunga - 2.5KM Line | Duration: 14 Days

✓ UEDCL Approved
Completed: 3rd September 2026

Project Overview: A new commercial poultry farm and 8 households in Busaana had no power access because the nearest transformer was 2.5KM away. We were contracted to extend the 11kV HV line corridor.

The Challenge: The line route cut directly through a difficult swampy area and active farmlands. This required an ERA-approved design framework, formal wayleaves permission from multiple landowners, and strict safety ground clearances.

What We Did:

  1. Survey & Design: Completed route surveys, precise pole spotting, and achieved full ERA-approved line design metrics.
  2. Pole Erection: Erected 35 heavy wooden poles (11m & 12m) to an exact depth of 1.8m underground.
  3. Stay Assembly: Installed 14 high-tension stay wires on all angle and end poles for structural line strength against wind loading.
  4. Conductor Stringing: Strung 3x 100mm² ACSR conductors across the 2.5KM alignment for the live 11kV distribution grid.
  5. Transformer Installation: Placed a 50kVA pole-mounted transformer unit to step down grid voltage safely to 415V.
  6. Testing & Commissioning: Ran comprehensive insulation tests and earth resistance tests achieving under 10 ohms before live grid energization.

Safety & Compliance: All field workers operated with full PPE gear, helmets, and heavy safety climbing belts [extract-clarify-key-attributes]. The finished transmission lines maintain a safe 5.5m ground clearance with anti-climbing guards installed on the structures following ERA standards [extract-clarify-key-attributes, simplify-tone-highlight-evidence].

Result: The farm and trading centre now have highly reliable 3-phase power. The extension is built to serve up to 100 more homes in the future, passing UEDCL technical inspection on the first visit with zero corrections.

Domestic Circuits

Project Title: Complete Domestic Wiring - 4 Bedroom Residential House

Location: Kayunga Town, Behind Centenary Bank | Duration: 5 Days

✓ ERA Certified Pass
August 2026

Project Overview: Client finished building a 4-bedroom house and needed full professional wiring to pass inspection.

The Challenge: House had many rooms, a heavy kitchen cooker circuit, and perimeter security lights requiring hidden conduits.

What We Did:

  1. Full conduit piping before plastering phase loops
  2. Installed 12-way Distribution Board with premium breakers
  3. Separate balanced circuits for cooker and water heaters
  4. Proper earthing system installation with copper rod

Result: Passed ERA inspection on first visit. Safe and neat setup with complete completion certificate.

Industrial Systems

Project Title: Three-Phase Power Installation for Maize Mill

Location: Kayunga Industrial Area, Nantabulirwa

✓ UEDCL Approved
Completed: June 2026

Project Overview: Maize mill was running on single-phase with a converter and motor was constantly overheating and burning out.

The Challenge: Heavy machine elements required a stable 20HP three-phase motor layout, but the localized premises lacked balanced grid drops.

What We Did:

  1. Applied and processed three-phase power extension approvals from UEDCL technical desks
  2. Laid heavy 35mm 4-core underground armoured power cable systems from grid pole directly to mill house
  3. Installed a heavy-duty 60A isolator control switch and a premium Direct-On-Line machinery starter
  4. Executed full load calculations to balance electrical draw across all three phase lines perfectly
  5. Conducted comprehensive voltage and current stress tests under full operational mill loads

Result & Safety: Mill now grinds 3x faster smoothly. Voltage drop trips and motor overheating issues are permanently solved.

Phase 1: Assessment Phase 2: Cable Laying Phase 4: Starter Connection Phase 5: Load Balancing Phase 6: Commissioning
Backup Power Systems

Project Title: Generator Supply & Automatic Changeover Installation

Location: Kangulumira Health Centre III, Kayunga District

✓ 24/7 Power Secured
Completed: May 2026

Project Overview: The medical clinic faced severe challenges during grid blackouts, leading to critical temperature drops that risked spoiling stored vaccine batches.

The Challenge: The system needed to detect power failures and switch loads instantly, operating reliably even at night without requiring manual human presence.

What We Did:

  1. Supplied and positioned a certified premium 15kVA sound-proof Diesel Generator unit
  2. Installed and calibrated a robust 100A Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) control panel interface
  3. Hardwired the secondary back-feed lines directly into the laboratory and cooling distribution boards
  4. Conducted comprehensive grid-failure simulation parameters to optimize switch relay timing profiles
  5. Provided on-site operational training for the facility staff and established a monthly servicing schedule

Result & Safety: On grid failure, the generator starts automatically within 10 seconds. Cold-chain storage is secured 24/7.

Phase 1: Siting Phase 2: Unloading Phase 3: ATS Assembly Phase 4: Circuit Routing Phase 5: Diagnostics
Emergency Response

Project Title: Emergency Fault Finding & Power Restoration

Location: Kayunga Central Market, Kayunga District

✓ 4-Hour Restoration
Completed: June 2026

Project Overview: The market complex suffered a total blackout for 2 days, accompanied by a strong burning smell coming from one of the retail shops.

The Challenge: The short-circuit fault was hidden deep inside underground conduits, and lock-up traders were losing revenue hourly.

What We Did:

  1. Deployed high-frequency cable fault locators to trace insulation leakage points along the line path
  2. Isolated a severely burnt and overloaded 6mm main supply wire feeding 10 separate market stalls
  3. Excavated the underground utility pathway and replaced damaged links with heavy 16mm armoured cabling
  4. Assembled a brand-new 8-way distribution board integrated with reliable safety circuit breakers
  5. Tested earth-loop impedance paths and cross-verified electrical load parameters to confirm grid health

Result & Safety: Power was fully restored within 4 hours. Fire threats and electric shock hazards were completely eliminated.

Phase 1: Diagnostic Scanning Phase 2: Damaged Line Exposure Phase 3: Trench Excavation Phase 4: Armoured Cable Laying Phase 5: DB Board Integration
